Absolutely love this guy. Oozes class and deserved the applause he got yesterday. Lifted the place by another few notches. A midfield quartet of him, Lanzini, Song and kouyate just can't come soon enough. Dimitri Payet, Welcome back.

Yea, and score goals too.

One trick pony.

All he ever does is get into attacking positions and set up goal scoring opportunities.

This. Love watching both Payet and Lanzini. They'll be up there with Brookng and Devonshire if they hang around for long enough and actually help win us something.

Re: Dimitri
Surely it will benefit us more if he isn't selected? No risk of international duty injuries and being on centre stage will attract more interest from other clubs.

Re: Dimitri
Apparently, the whole of France were in uproar that he left Frances's biggest team to join little West Ham, it didn't go down well at all, would seem a ridiculous reason not to pick him but we all know what moody cunts they are.

Outrageous player.

Re: Dimitri
France must be some side if he can't get in their team.

Or Deschamps is a long lost brother of Allardyce.

Re: Dimitri
If he was playing for a 'big club' the media would be all over him.

Very reminiscent of zizou, which ain't a bad thing as he was one of the best players of the 20th century.

Re: Dimitri
They did show that drag back skill, just in the analysis after.

It led to nothing though, so not surprised it wasn't included.

Re: Dimitri
Tevez was more of a cult hero than what he actually did for us on the pitch over that season, he only scored his first goal against Tottenham when we were pretty much dead and buried, I think payet is a better player personally and has done more for us this year than tevez did the year he was here

Payet skill in the middle of the game, only caught match of the day so never saw it, heard about and wanted to see what the fuss was about, the bloke is everything we hoped Joe Cole would turn into, he had the fancy tricks and the dribbling ability but his end ball, vision and finishing is amazing, best player I've ever seen, the bloke is so much better than anyone in the premiership in my opinion

Is there any mechanism for doing the evils on anyone planning to crock him these days?

I mean the ICF is no longer a going concern and all...

Re: Dimitri
Agree with the earlier comments about that bit of skill where he kept the ball and embarrassed 3 Liverpool players one after the other.
How could you edit highlights of a game and not show that?
It was so good it just made you laugh.

I can remember when we beat Chelsea and he trapped a ball on his thigh, juggled it and volleyed a first time cross that Carroll was a whisker away from. They didn't show that either!

Re: Dimitri
I'm with Ron 100%, Payet is fucking ridiculous, and better than Di Canio for me. I know we don't necessarily have to judge them against each other, but you'll always get the 'best you've ever seen' debate, and this lad has got absolutely everything.

He'd be good enough with just the skill alone, but his end product in terms of finishing and providing is up there with the very best in the world. Fuck knows how we've managed to get him, but get him we did, and this stadium move is going to make sure he stays.

Re: Dimitri
With the likes of him and Lanzani around so much more is possible - even a return of Carlitos is not a total pipedream.

Re: Dimitri
We are very lucky he isn't younger since he'd be off to Madrid or Barca in the summer if he were.

Re: Dimitri
I think a lot of our fans don't actually appreciate how good Payet actually is. Don't think we've seen his best yet either.

He's a fucking great player- that's all I know. We have been blessed with a few more though through the years. You only really have to think back to Tevez.

Re: Dimitri
I'm not saying he's the best West Ham player ever, but in terms of ability and what he can do with a ball. I've never seen anyone like him before.

Unless you're 8 years-old that's a pretty big statement to make- especially based on watching him less than eighteen times.

Payet is the most gifted footballer I've ever seen in a West Ham shirt
